On this an adventurous 4WD /total 3400km driving/ trip across Mongolia, we will experience the incredible diversity of scenery in Mongolia abounds. There are much of the journey being on dirt roads but it is also highly rewarding with spectacular scenery and memorable sights throughout. Offering plenty of good walks and cultural interactions

Our tour will take 19 days to cover the best travel destinations in Mongolia including the most visited Terelj  National Park, famous Genghis Khan’s statue complex which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world, Gobi desert- the ancient homeland of Dinosaurs, Khongor - towering sand dunes with green meadows; known as the "singing sands", Sparsely habited: silence - endless vast steppe with dancing mirages,  famous Bayanzag - flaming cliffs, most interesting National Parks – UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Karakorum -  ruins and museum of ancient.

The tour continues to Northern Mongolia for Khovsgol Lake; the second largest freshwater lake in Central  Asia, making up over 1% of the world’s freshwater storage. It is one of the most beautiful and scenic spots in  Mongolia, where high mountain peaks, forests, lush meadows, and steppes all form a rich ecosystem and diverse wildlife habitats. Also, visit the Tsaatan minority who live in huts and reindeer herding.

Sainbainuu! Welcome to Mongolia. Whenever your international flight lands at “Chinggis Khan” international airport, our team will meet you at the airport, and you will be transferred to the hotel in the city. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask your hotel reception for recommendations.

Today, after breakfast your adventure begins we will drive to Terelj National Park. This is one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia which is by its natural beauty, forested alpine mountains, and interesting rock formations (Massive woolsack weather conditions) very well known. 

On the way visit “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops that occupy the base structure. From here, you can ascend to the head of the horse using an elevator.

There you have a good panoramic view of the complex area and the scenery beyond. You are now definitely in Genghis Khan’s country!

After breakfast at the tourist Ger camp restaurant, we drive to Baga Gazriin Chuluu (approximately 6 hours) from Ulaanbataar a series of granitic formations located in the Middle Gobi province. Ruggedly beautiful, the rocks are worshipped by locals, who are known to make pilgrimages here, and it is rumored that Genghis Khan also traveled to this site during his conquests.

Here the group will encounter ancient rock paintings, natural springs, and a ruined monastery. You will have the opportunity to hike in the area and take in the awe-inspiring views before heading onwards to a tourist ger camp for the night.

After breakfast at the tourist Ger camp restaurant,  we will drive to Tsagaan Suvarga  (approximately 5 hours). Also known as the "white stupa”, the region is well known for its formation of rocky cliffs composed of different ores. When exposed to oxygen, the rock turns different shades of pink, red, and orange.

The cliff's dates are back as far as 10 million years, with the different colored layers indicating different times in the rock's history. Hike and explore the nearby caves after lunch. Also, the area is an excellent site for taking photographs of the beautiful panoramic views. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

 After breakfast at the tourist Ger camp restaurant, we will drive to Yolyn Am (Eagle Canyon) (approximately 5 hours) is a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan (Three Beauties of the Gobi) Mountain National Park. The area, as part of the Gobi Desert, sees little precipitation. However, Yolyn Am is notable for a deep ice field; it remains frozen for most of the year, except late summer.

There is a small natural museum at the National park entrance, which exhibits a collection of dinosaur eggs, bones, stuffed birds, and snow leopards. This place is also very rich in rare plants. You may be lucky enough to spot wild sheep and goats grazing high on the cliff walls. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp near Gobi Gurvan Saikhan & Yolin am / Eagle Canyon /.

After breakfast at the tourist Ger camp restaurant, we will drive to the giant dunes known as Khongor Sand Dunes (approximately 5-6 hours), Mongolia's largest and called the locals  ‘singing sands.’ These monster dunes stretch for over 180km and can reach up to 300 meters in height. There is a small river called Khongoryn Gol, with dark green banks full of flowers along the dunes' side. This is the quintessential landscape that one would picture if asked to imagine a desert.

Sweeping, wave-like patterns of sand framed by a bright blue sky and lit by a relentless sun. The dunes’ nickname comes from the sound produced by small avalanches of sand on a windy day, and the noise has been likened to the distant hum of an aircraft propeller. There'll be time to do a walk up to the top of the dunes and watch the sunset. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

 Today you will have a chance to ride a two-humped camel along the iconic singing sand dunes. The camel is a gentle, calm, and extraordinary patient animal and can carry on without water for a month. The Khongor Sand Dunes are the perfect place for camel riding.

Enjoy this typically Mongolian experience while you make your way through this remote landscape and take in the views. For the rest of the day, we will visit the camel herder family and free time. Perhaps go for a walk, read a book, catch up on some sleep or just relax around the ger camp

 After breakfast, we will drive to Bayanzag /Flaming Cliffs/  (approximately 5-6 hours),  first discovered by Roy Chapman Andrews, a famous American explorer in 1920. Flaming cliffs Bayanzag is an important site for both archeological and paleontological finds.

Complete dinosaur skeletons, including One-horned dinosaur (Protoceratops) and Egg-thief (Oviraptor), and numerous eggs, were excavated in ravines between the red flaming cliffs, which look like fire in the middle of the desert from a distance. These magnificent tall red rocks formed as a result of wind and water erosion. White fossilized bones are still found nowadays. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Ongiin Khiid   (approximately 5-6 hours). Ongiin Khiid refers to two ruined monasteries: Bari Lam Khiid, which was built in 1810 on the north bank of the river near the tourist ger camps, and Khutagt Lam Khiid, which was built in 1760 on the south side of the river and is only accessible when the water is low or frozen over.

One of the largest monasteries in Mongolia was destroyed in 1937 as part of a communist purge. Since 1990, a small but growing contingent of monks has resettled amid the ruins, gradually restoring the ancient site. Spend the day exploring the ruins and visit the small museum. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

 After breakfast, we will drive to the Karakorum and Erdenezuu Monastery (approximately 6-7hours). We will visit Karakorum's museum and the ancient city's symbolic ruins, the capital city of the Great Mongol Empire founded in the 13th century by Genghis Khan.

Also, visit the magnificent and oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdene Zuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. Here you can see interesting listen to monks chanting Buddhist sutras. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

After breakfast, we will drive to Tsenkher Valley (approximately 3-4 hours), which  Mongolians call 'The Paradise of the Horse Herders' due to its lush grasses and open valleys, where water flows out of the ground at 86°C, and where we can enjoy a relaxing soak.

The following day we will take a short, easy walk to meet one of the many nomadic families that spend their summers in the region. The afternoon is free to explore the valley and surrounding hills either by foot or by horseback. In Tsenkher we will stay at the tourist ger camp.

Today our tour will continue towards Taikar Rock, drive  (approximately 1-2 hours), a massive granite rock located on the Tamir River banks surrounding the flat country. It’s covered with 150 writings in many different languages and dating back from many different periods. 


On the way, we will visit Tsetserleg town, the capital of Arkhangai province, with around 20,000 population. Tsetserleg means garden and the city ringed by scenic mountains, the streets are tree-lined, and a lovely little temple overlooks the town. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

Today we will go to see the amazing extinct Khorgo volcano ( drive approximately 3-4 hours),  which was active 8000 years ago. This province is the beautiful scenery of mountains, cliffs, rapid rivers, lakes, extinct volcanoes, and fantastic caves green forests, and pastures, where the long-haired yaks and horses thrive. 

After seeing the extinct Khorgo volcano crater, our journey will continue to Terkh White Lake. Terkh White Lake is a mesmerizing beautiful lake with crystal clear freshwater. Hiking, horse riding, mountain climbing, and swimming are all good here. Stay overnight at tourist Ger camp.

Today is the long driving day. After breakfast, we will drive (approx 8-9 hours) through beautiful nature routes, we cross vast grasslands and arrive at Khovsgol Lake. Some say this is Mongolia's most beautiful destination. Khovsgol Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in Central Asia with 262m depth. 96 rivers and streams feed this gorgeous lake, but only Eg River flows out from the lake.

Khuvsgul lake is inhabited by 9 species of fish, while the nearby taiga forest, forest-steppe, mountains, and the lake provide habitat for 68 species of mammals. The lake is surrounded by dozens of stunning mountains, thick pine forests, and lush meadows with grazing yaks and horses. Overnight at the tourist ger camp near the lake.

In the morning, we will hike in the surrounding forest mountains to better look at the crystal blue lake. Explore on foot and relax on one of our few days, not on the road. All of these are great ways to experience this gorgeous region.

There are horse riding and fishing opportunities around the lake. In the afternoon, we will drive to the north to visit Reindeer village, where we can experience Tsaatan, reindeer breeders’ unique everyday life, and traditional tent-dwelling “Urts.” Return to the tourist ger camp and overnight in the ger.

 After breakfast at the tourist ger camp restaurant, we will drive to Uran Togoo (approximately 6-7 hours). We will arrive at the tourist ger camp located near Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wildlife observation.

Its ridge of the crater is one of many examples of circles that arise in nature resembled a nice creature of a craftsman. Uran's highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields. Overnight at the tourist ger camp

After breakfast at a tourist ger camp restaurant, we will drive to the beautiful Amarbaysgalant monastery located in the valley of the Iven River (approximately 3-4 hours). This monastery registered in the world’s cultural heritage by UNESCO.

Presently, 30 monks reside in the newly restored monastery ranging in age from 7 to 90. In the afternoon, we will start a drive to Ulaanbaatar  (approximately 5-6 hours) Upon arrival in UB and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is flexible for your will, have a rest or a walk near the hotel.

After lunch, visit “Gandan” Monastery, Mongolia’s largest functioning Buddhist monastery, including the Mongolian Buddhist University. The highlight of visiting Gandan is the 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig. 

Afterward, free of your choice. You can be transferred to the hotel for rest and refreshment or go shopping for souvenirs and local products, and your guide will be ready to serve you for that. Suggested shopping places are the State department store, the famous “Gobi” cashmere factory store. 

In the evening, we will visit the “Wonders of Mongolia” folklore show by the famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble - is one of the most successful folk art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries. We will have dinner at 8:00 and transferred to the hotel.
