Our Taimen Fishing Tour will cover the best fishing spots on the Khug, Shishget, Sharga, Tengis and Delgermurun rivers in northern Mongolia. These rivers are every fisherman’s dream. They are clear and easy to wade – even the banks are easy walking – and range in size from 40 to 120 feet wide. It is hard to imagine that a fish as large as the Taimen can live in these waters.
Taimens are the world's most prominent member of the Salmonid Family, which encompasses all trout, char, salmon, grayling, and whitefish species. These ancient fish average from 30-40 inches in length, with some reaching 60-plus inches. Native to Central Asia, the Taimen has called the high desert of Mongolia home for thousands of years. These fantastic, predatory fish have only become exposed and prominent in the last few decades.
The Fishing season in Mongolia is from 15th June to 15th October. Our tour is open during fishing season. Water conditions in Mongolia are generally relatively stable. However, if our rivers' headwaters receive heavy rain, off-color water conditions are possible. In the past, we have found that fishing is still possible in off-color conditions and that the rivers generally clear quickly. And also this is why we go to four different river locations for fishing. If one or two destinations have muddy water conditions, we will stay in the other two to continue fishing.
Fishing weeks will not be canceled; refunds will not be offered if muddy water conditions occur during the season. Elite Tour Mongolia cannot be responsible for the water conditions during the fishing season. If there is high water that causes a week to be rescheduled, we will offer to reschedule you for later in the season or next year.

Itinerary
Sainbainuu! Welcome to Mongolia, whenever your international flight lands at “Chinggis Khan” international airport our team will meet you at the airport and you will be transferred to the hotel in the city. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.
You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet-lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask from your hotel reception for recommendations.

In the morning our driver and guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and we will drive to the airport and take a flight to Murun at (10:20 AM), the center of Northern Province. We will Reach Murun at (11:40 AM) Upon arrival at the local airport, we will have a lunch at Murun, after lunch, we will drive to tourist camp that located at river KHUG (approximately 8 hours).
Upon arrival, we will meet our local fishing guide, local driver and cook. We will have dinner at the tourist camp restaurant. After dinner is a free time rest of the day. You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance driving, flight or If you feel like go fishing, the camp is located at HUG river, there are plenty of good spots near camp.
Feel free to ask from a guide for a good spot or we can start our night fishing with a mouse. We fish for Taimen, Lenok, grayling Stay Overnight at the tourist ger camp near.

After a breakfast, we will drive to Shishget river 20km from camp (approximately 30min) with two cars one for you one for the local fishing guide and cook. Full day fishing and boating along the Shishgid river.
In the evening we will drive back to Khug river to tourist camp and after dinner free time. Or we can eat dinner at Shishget river stay till night at shishget river for night fishing, this option is up to customers will. Stay Overnight at the tourist ger camp.

After a breakfast, we will drive to Delegermurun river (approximately 8-9 hours). Full day driving. We will have lunch on the way to Delgermurun river and Dinner at Delegermurun river nearby Murun town. In the evening we will be fishing. Stay Overnight at tent

After breakfast in the morning, we will be fishing. And we will drive back to Murun town to catch a flight (at 12 noon) to Ulaanbaatar city. Arrival at (13.30PM). when we arrive in Ulaanbaatar we will check in to the hotel and will visit “Gandan” Monastery, Mongolia’s largest functioning Buddhist monastery including the Mongolian Buddhist University.
The highlight of visiting Gandan is a 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig. Afterward go shopping for souvenirs and local products at the State department store, famous “Gobi” cashmere factory store.
In the evening, we will visit “Wonders of Mongolia” folklore show by famous Tumen-Ekh ensemble - is one of the most successful folk art groups to share traditional Mongolian music with the world, having traveled to over 40 countries. Will have dinner at 8:00 o’clock and transferred to the hotel.

You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home.
Your driver will assist you with flight check-in and luggage, and see you off at the point of security check. Note: You must be at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport 2 hours before your flight time.
